Physiotherapy rehabilitation becomes crucial for\u00a0 better\u00a0 quality of\u00a0 life after cancer treatment. The objective of the present study was to assess the perception and knowledge regarding role of physiotherapy in oral\/mouth cancer survivors amongst non medical professionals\u00a0 in\u00a0 India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Methodology:<\/strong>\u00a0 This\u00a0 e-survey\u00a0 was conducted using a\u00a0 self -prepared\u00a0 questionnaire\u00a0 in\u00a0 English\u00a0 language carried\u00a0 out\u00a0 for\u00a0 a\u00a0 period\u00a0 of\u00a0 3\u00a0 months. Questionnaire\u00a0\u00a0 was\u00a0 circulated\u00a0 among\u00a0 respondents\u00a0 across\u00a0 India via\u00a0 social\u00a0 media<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Results:<\/strong> Out\u00a0 of\u00a0 265\u00a0 respondents,\u00a0 a\u00a0 total\u00a0 of\u00a0 92.8% respondents had\u00a0 fair\u00a0 knowledge\u00a0\u00a0 regarding\u00a0 oral\u00a0 cancer\u00a0 and\u00a0 its\u00a0 causes. 57.7% respondents\u00a0 had\u00a0 knowledge\u00a0 about\u00a0 problems\u00a0 faced\u00a0 by\u00a0\u00a0 oral\u00a0 cancer\u00a0 survivors. Physiotherapy\u00a0 as\u00a0 a\u00a0 treatment\u00a0 option \u00a0was\u00a0 known\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 87.9%. 75% \u00a0respondents possessed knowledge\u00a0 of\u00a0 physiotherapy\u00a0 in\u00a0 treating\u00a0 functional\u00a0 limitations seen\u00a0 in oral cancer patients .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Conclusion:<\/strong> There was sufficient\u00a0 knowledge\u00a0 among\u00a0 the respondents \u00a0\u00a0regarding\u00a0 oral\u00a0 cancer\u00a0 and\u00a0 physiotherapy\u00a0 treatment\u00a0 in\u00a0 oral\u00a0 cancer\u00a0 survivors.\u00a0 However, there\u00a0 is \u00a0a\u00a0 dire\u00a0 need\u00a0 to\u00a0 take\u00a0 measures\u00a0 to\u00a0 assess\u00a0 the\u00a0 awareness\u00a0 of\u00a0 physiotherapy\u00a0 in\u00a0 cancer\u00a0 to\u00a0 improve\u00a0 quality\u00a0 of\u00a0 life\u00a0 amongst\u00a0\u00a0 rural\u00a0 population.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Key words:<\/strong>\u00a0 Perception, Oral cancer survivors, Human papilloma virus (HPV),\u00a0 Palliative care,\u00a0 Physiotherapy, Quality\u00a0 of\u00a0 life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>REFERENCES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[1].
