Pin 584101 <strong>E-Mail:<\/strong> gw1726@gmail.com<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Background: <\/strong>Spleen is encapsulated vascular and lymphoid organ. Clinically study of spleen is significant in immunological and haematological disorders. Context \u00a0and\u00a0 purpose\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 study\u00a0 is\u00a0 to\u00a0 study\u00a0 morphological variations\u00a0 of\u00a0 spleen\u00a0 and\u00a0 to\u00a0 compare \u00a0them\u00a0 with\u00a0 previous\u00a0 studies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Materials and Methods: <\/strong>Present study carried out with 74 spleens at the Department of Anatomy, Navodaya Medical College,\u00a0 Raichur, Karnatka, India, furthermore we observed for various morphological features.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Results:\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>Out\u00a0 of\u00a0 74\u00a0 spleens\u00a0 11\u00a0 spleens\u00a0 were\u00a0 triangular,\u00a0 41\u00a0 spleens\u00a0 were\u00a0 tetrahedral\u00a0 and\u00a0 22\u00a0 spleens\u00a0 were\u00a0 wedge\u00a0 shaped.\u00a0 The\u00a0 mean\u00a0 length\u00a0 was \u00a011cm,\u00a0 the\u00a0 mean\u00a0 breadth\u00a0 was\u00a0 7.1cm,\u00a0 the\u00a0 mean\u00a0 width\u00a0 was\u00a0 5.45cm,\u00a0 the\u00a0 mean\u00a0 weight\u00a0 was\u00a0 141.77gms\u00a0 and\u00a0 the\u00a0 mean\u00a0 volume\u00a0 was\u00a0 140.45cm<sup>3<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Conclusion: <\/strong>74\u00a0 normal\u00a0 spleens\u00a0 were\u00a0 studied\u00a0 with\u00a0 shapes,\u00a0 lengths,\u00a0 breadths,\u00a0 widths,\u00a0 weights\u00a0 and\u00a0 volumes\u00a0 were\u00a0 analysed.\u00a0 Present\u00a0 study\u00a0 will\u00a0 help radiologists \u00a0,\u00a0 physicians\u00a0 and\u00a0 surgeons\u00a0 in\u00a0 diagnosing\u00a0 disorders\u00a0 of\u00a0 spleen<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Key\u00a0 words: <\/strong>Volume \u00a0of \u00a0spleen, \u00a0Shape\u00a0 of\u00a0 spleen, Disorders\u00a0 of\u00a0 spleen, Lymphoid organ.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>REFERENCES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Standring S: Gray\u2019s Anatomy: The Anatomical Basis of the Clinical Practice, 40th edition.
